Formed in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2006, Adelitas Way is a Hard Rock band founded by lead vocalist Rick DeJesus, drummer Trevor ‘Tre’ Stafford, and lead guitarist Creighton Taylor Bibbs.  By the time the group signed to Virgin Records, Bibbs had been replaced by Chris Iorio and they expanded the group’s line-up with the addition of rhythm guitarist Keith Wallen and bassist Derek Johnston. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2009 to positive reviews and was a commercial success. In the coming years, the group’s line-up would change sporadically with DeJesus and Stafford remaining the only constant members. However, this did not have an affect on the band’s popularity.

Adelitas Way’s sophomore album, HOME SCHOOL VALEDICTORIAN, was released in 2011 and proved to be another success. Their third album, 2014’s STUCK, reached #2 on Billboard’s Hard Rock Albums chart, which was two spots higher than their previous release. More success followed with the studio albums GETAWAY (2016), NOTORIOUS (2017), and SHINE ON (2020). During this string of albums, Adelitas Way also achieved success on the Active Rock Singles chart with songs like “Invincible,” “Sick,” “The Collapse,” “Critical,” “Dog on a Leash,” “Bad Reputation,” and “Still Hungry.” The prolific band was also active between albums, releasing three EPs: DESERVE THIS (2015), LIVE LOVE LIFE (2018), and RIVALS (2021).

Adelitas Way returns in 2023 with POWER, an album that lives up to its title… and then some. From the infectious beats of album opener “Talk” to the closing acoustic ballad “In Your Eyes,” this is an album that reveals that the title POWER is not just about the heaviness of the music – it is also about the power of emotion. Other highlights include “Down,” “Snake in the Grass,” “One Way to Find Out,” and ‘Pushing My Limits.” On this album, the band is joined by guest artists including rockers New Medicine (“Up”) and Ian Crossland (on the title track, “Power”). However, it remains pure Adelitas Way. They’ve come a long way and have evolved since the release of their 2009 debut album, and POWER is a step beyond their 2020 album SHINE ON and the EP RIVALS. Until we see what comes next, let’s enjoy the power of POWER.
