Newly relocated from her longtime home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina-based singer, songwriter, and guitarist Rosali Middleman – better known simply as Rosali – first came to the attention of music critics and fans in 2016 when she released her debut album OUT OF LOVE. The album mixed simple yet emotional acoustic-based folk with an ethereal feel that stood out from the other Folk / Americana albums released that year. Rosali returned two years later with the album TROUBLE ANYWAY (2018), which found the singer / songwriter moving away from the acoustic sounds of her debut and embracing the electric guitar a bit more. However, this slight change in course did not affect the emotional pull of her music, which continued to draw in new listeners.

In 2021, Rosali released her third album, NO MEDIUM, which found her backed by a collective of musicians known as Mowed Sound: David Nance (bass, guitar), James Schroeder (guitar, synth), and Kevin Donahue (drums, percussion). The songs were edgier and showed a maturity in her songwriting. While some songs may have sonically strayed away from her Folk-inspired roots, the album was filled with songs that were far more powerful with these more anthemic arrangements. Technically, the album could be classified as Americana, but NO MEDIUM showed that Rosali had risen above and beyond genres and was following her own musical path.

Now signed with Merge Records, Rosali returns with BITE DOWN, her highly anticipated fourth studio release. Not quite as heavy as NO MEDIUM, the new album blends the more personal feel of her debut with the muscular sound of her third album, creating something new and exciting. Again joined by Mowed Sound, the album is filled with some of her most immediate songs yet. While the singles “Rewind,” “On Tonight,” and the title track have already been warmly received by fans, the album includes many more standouts including “Hopeless,” “Is it Too Late,” “Hills On Fire,” and many others. While her previous albums may have already earned Rosali a substantial audience, BITE DOWN could – and should – be the album that brings her to commercial prominence.
