Born in Connecticut and raised in Pennsylvania, Madi Diaz is a singer, songwriter and musician who began learning to play the piano at the age of 5. As a teenager, she switched her musical focus to guitar and practice on her craft throughout high school. After graduation, she attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she studied under guitarist Kyle Ryan. In 2007, a producer approached Madi about recording an album in Hawaii and she began collaborating with Kyle on a batch of songs that resulted in her debut album, SKIN AND BONES, in 2007. Inspired by the experience, Madi dropped out of Berklee and pursued a career in music. While the journey would prove to be a long one, her perseverance eventually paid off…

Madi Diaz and Kyle Ryan continued to write songs together and perform live showcases in New York City. After securing management and publishing in 2008, the duo was sent to Nashville to write new material together. The TEN GUN SALUTE EP was released at the end of 2008 and she began touring across the US, opening for several artists including The Civil Wars and Landon Pigg. She began to receive critical acclaim and began to build a fanbase with albums such as 2012’s PLASTIC MOON (which reached #20 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart), WE THREW OUR HEARTS IN THE FIRE (2012), and PHANTOM (2014). Signing with the Anti- label, she issued the album HISTORY OF A FEELING (2021), which became her breakthrough release, bringing her to the attention of a wider audience. Her stint playing guitar – and opening select shows – in Harry Styles’ touring band in 2023 introduced her to a whole new audience.

In 2024, Madi Diaz returns with the album WEIRD FAITH. Produced by Sam Cohen and Konrad Snyder, the album shows that the singer/songwriter has continued to absorb all of her experiences – personal and professional – and incorporate them into her music. With a voice that projects both wonderment and hurt, Madi offers up a fresh batch of material that takes in everything from acoustic Folk to Indie Rock. The album features the singles “Don’t Do Me Good” (featuring Kacey Musgraves), “Same Risk,” “For Months Now,” and “Everything Almost,” as well as other future fan favorites including “Obsessive Thoughts,” “Get To Know Me,” and “Hurting You.” WEIRD FAITH is an album that continues Madi’s journey forward and will most certainly bring in more critical accolades and new listeners looking for something with substance and style.
